In the turbulent times of the pandemic, Gillette wanted to help men make their grooming needs easier by creating a one fit kit, but had trouble getting marketing assets produced because of new production standards and costs during quarantine. I stepped in with a solution to self create entire productions that was completely sanitary and safe.
In the “One Kit Fits All” ad, I successfully reduced the production down to one person: me. I wrote the commercial, directed, shot it, performed in it and edit/colored it which allowed for the ad to be created completely in isolation.
The “No Shave November” ad was created when Covid testing was made widely available and sanitary levels had been more standardized. I still was able to keep the team small by writing the commercial, art directed the location directed, performed in it, and edit/colored it. I included a small team of one camera op, one actress, and one asst. director. A team of four was able to bring this to delivery.
